Description:

Misen has been a steady collaboration over the last year, covering everything from individual product development to systems-level thinking across their broader lineup. Most of that work is still in the pipeline, but the Kids Knife is out in the world and a good example of the kind of detail that goes into even a "simple" product.

Designing for kids is surprisingly nuanced. The ergonomics have to build confidence without being condescending, the materials have to feel real, and the whole thing has to work for small hands without feeling like a toy. I worked through the full process: concept, CAD, prototyping, and DFM, making sure what looked good in a render would actually hold up in a kitchen.

The broader work with Misen has pushed into territory I find genuinely interesting, rethinking how entire product lines relate to each other ergonomically and visually. More on that soon.
