Description:

Nike came to me with a pretty fun brief: turn the Swoosh, the Converse Star Chevron, and the Jordan Jumpman into large-format 3D printed sculptures for display at their WHQ. The challenge was translating iconic 2D logos into physical objects with enough presence and detail to hold up at scale, all produced in-house on my printers.

The process involved a lot of problem-solving around print orientation, sectioning the parts to work within my build volume, surface finish decisions, and getting the color right. The Swoosh ended up with a gradient orange finish that came out really well. Each sculpture sits on a base with a laser-etched steel plate, and the layer lines are left intentionally visible, which I think gives them a handmade quality that feels right for a display piece.

Designing, printing, assembling, and shipping three separate objects with this level of detail was a good challenge, and honestly pretty satisfying to pull off solo out of a Brooklyn apartment.
